Frequently asked questions

How can I add a widget to my home screen?
  1. Long press on your iPhone home screen until apps start jiggling.
  2. Tap the Edit button in the top left corner and select Add Widget.
  3. Search for “PathQuest”, select the widget size, and tap Add Widget.
Why isn’t my widget updating?

iOS controls how often widgets refresh to save battery. Your widget updates regularly while you’re active, but iOS may delay updates when your phone is idle, in low power mode, or hasn’t been opened recently.

Open the app to pull the latest progress immediately.

Does the app require an internet connection?

No. PathQuest works fully offline. Internet is only needed for optional features: syncing your quests across devices via iCloud (Voyager) and managing your subscription.

What is my health data used for?

PathQuest reads your steps and walking distance from Apple Health and turns them into progress along your quest. Your health data never leaves your device and is never shared with anyone — including us.

What’s the difference between Hero and Extended modes?

Hero Mode keeps the same path but increases the distance for a bigger challenge. Extended routes add bonus stages, taking your adventure beyond the original route.

Both are available with Voyager.

How can I control notifications?

PathQuest can notify you about daily progress, stage milestones, and important quest updates.

You can adjust this anytime from Settings → Preferences → Notifications.

  • All keeps every notification enabled.
  • Some removes daily progress nudges while keeping milestone, completion, and expiry updates.
  • Few keeps things quiet, only notifying you when a quest finishes or expires.

Changes take effect immediately.

How does PathQuest measure my distance?

PathQuest reads your activity data from Apple Health. If walking distance is available, the app uses it directly. Otherwise, distance is estimated from your daily step count using a standard average stride.

If you use a device that tracks distance accurately but undercounts steps, PathQuest will quietly use distance as a fallback. This keeps your quest progress accurate and fair.

You don’t need a watch or any extra gear.

What happens when I complete a quest?

Completed quests move to your History where you can revisit them anytime. Your stats keep accumulating across every quest you finish.

Can I cancel my Voyager subscription?

Yes. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime from your Apple Account settings. You’ll keep Voyager features until the end of the current billing period.
